Ladies - You always find yourself getting up extra early just to prepare yourself to face and greet the entire world.
If you still don't get what I am hinting, I'm actually talking about make up.
Yes, the things that most girls and a very tiny fraction of guys put on their faces.
Is it really a necessity?

Before and after of a person who has done up her make up. These enhanced in physical appearance in the girls does it really increase the kind of relationship that you would have with the guys?
Some of my friends find it impossible to leave the house without make up, being afraid that it might be very embarrassing for them, meeting people in their original form. It is to the extent of make up being part of their life, part of their routine and part of the schedule. They are just willing to fork out extra beauty sleep or time to make themselves be the most outstanding person on the street, most of the time, being late for appointments.
Is it really worth it? I guess you can say so in a certain way. It might not in the 1970s, but human thinking has evoluted in many ways. Men now a days tend to be very superficial. Yes, you might say you men are NOT superficial, but you cannot deny the fact that many of you decrease your personal proximity with the girl if you find her more appealing in appearance wise. The more men yearn for beautiful ladies on the street, the more women have to spend their preciously earned money and time on these beauty secrets.
So men, if you find yourself waiting for your female companions on the streets again, you ought to be waiting! After spending so much time and money just to try to impress you and gain a favourable impression, you should treat her dinner as well! :)
That's funny! I waited the whole month to treat a girl dinner but she never showed up!
ReplyDeletei like your last sentence! It's ok if girls want to apply makeup, and i do know that sometimes that can take up quite a bit of time. its fine if the girl actually wakes up earlier so as to be able to apply make up and still be on time. but some girls would just wake up anytime they like and slowly take their own sweet time and thus late. no hardfeelings against them but i just feel that if you want to make yourself look pretty, at least give yourself enough time to do that instead of being late all the time.
ReplyDeleteeven thou im not one of those girls who take make up as a necessity.
im not against makeups but i just feel that because of makeup, it has "polluted" our perspective in some way or another. if the first time you saw a person is when she has no makeup on, you may think that she looks fine or maybe even pretty and on the second time, she has makeup on, you may think that she looks prettier. subsequently after that, each time you see her without her makeup on, you will tend to think that she looks ugly because you have seen her with makeup on, and that somehow raise your expectations on that persons outlook.
im not a big fan of makeup even thou ocassionally i apply just foundation and rarely mascaras. and because i dont apply thick makeup, even when i go out without makeup, people still thnks i look fine. but if im so used to applying thick makeups and people are so used to seeing me in thick makeups, they would think that i look ugly without makeup and i guess thats what that leads to why a lot of girls can't live without makeup.
makeup is good in the sense that it does make one look better but evil that it destroys our perspective of pretty.
Sarah.. I can totally relate to your post, haha! Yes times have definitely changed. Physical appearance is definitely important. Sadly.. I have found myself not being able to face the world (except good friends) without a little bit of make up. There is really a difference on how people will view you with your raw face and make up face. Sometimes we just want to doll outself up and look good next to the guy we are going out with.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad but it's true... Once you start piling on makeup, you wouldn't be able to stop. The constant need in beautifying ourselves is always there. Sigh... :x
Make up pretty faces! It provides pleasing aesthetics to the eyes, so why not? Looks are important; they speak about the person. I won't mind waiting for my girlfriend if she were to show up all pretty and cutesy. =D
ReplyDeleteI think that it totally depends on the occasion. When attending a corporate function for example, appearing without make-up would make you seem impolite to others, especially the host. However, for places such as the school, when people are there for education purposes, i do not see the need to PILE on make-up. Light ones will do :)
ReplyDeletewhy remain at 50% (not-that-pretty) when you know you're a 100% (hey-there-gorgeous) with makeup?
ReplyDeletefor that matter, why be ugly when you know you can look better with just a little bit of effort thrown in?
having said that, im all for people who prefers the natural look 'cause i can definitely see the appeal.
still, i think makeup is the least of our worries when you look at the extremes- cosmetic surgery and photoshop...
Okay, I'm too very particular about covering up the not so nice blemishes when meeting up with people at social functions.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I believe that doing this all the time is
1. damaging to our skin
2. time consuming
3. expensive in the long run
JUST PHOTOSHOP YOUR PHOTOS.
News flash, make up is no longer for gers only, the world today might reach a stage where girls will be waiting for their male counterparts as they need some "touch-up" or "powdering of nose" as the male population is also getting very aware of their looks.
ReplyDeleteBut my take of make up is pretty much to enhance a person's look, and an appropriate amount is okie. but when it becomes an obsession, then I feel it do take a little out of a person mindset, like fren that feel that they cannot go out without make up, or they look ugly without makeup. It create personal inferiority which is not very good. Beauty is more than just the look.
Confidence is still the best make up in life...
Hi Sarah
ReplyDeleteI don't think make-up is necessary, really. What if a guy wakes up one day after marriage and cannot recognise his lady? That'll be disturbing.
I think make-up on special occasions will do :-)
Who doesn't want to appear flawless and pretty without make up?! However with the society, makeup is no longer a personal thing.
ReplyDeleteI always feel that putting on makeup (be it light or heavy) is a form of respect to others.
I wouldn't want people to meet me with tired eyes or a pale face.
That's why i feel having basic makeup on your face is just presenting yourself in tip top condition to others.
Some may find it troublesome and unnecessary, but i think it is how you look at makeup at different point of views.
One thing that i agree, do not let makeup be a obsession!
On another perspective, girls put on make up as a sign of respect for the person they're intending to meet. (On yet another note people arrive early as a sign of respect too! :p)
ReplyDeleteWhile I'd like for girls to have enough self esteem to be proud of who they really are and just work it all natural, these days it seems they really need that external confidence boost to survive in today's society.
I still try to appreciate girls for who they are so ball's in your court! :)
